Be part of something bigger!
Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System (ICS) is a partnership of organisations working together to improve the health and well-being of our local people throughout their lives.
In Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, there are nearly 50,000 staff working in our Hospitals, Community Trusts, Hospices, GP Surgeries, Community Pharmacists, Ambulance Services and Social Care, including Care Homes. Every single person in our huge health and care family plays a really important role in providing support and help to thousands of local people, being part of their lives and being there for them when they are most vulnerable.
The ICS brings together Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations, Local Authorities, and NHS Trusts to make a real positive difference to local people and communities.
What is an ICS?
Integrated Care Systems, or ICSs, are partnerships between organisations that meet health and care needs across an area. In our case, our Integrated Care System covers all of Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Royston in North Hertfordshire.
By working together as a partnership, we are better able to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities, reducing health inequalities and putting local people at the heart of everything we do.
What it means to be part of an ICS?
Rather than providing health and care in separate, and sometimes isolated parts of the system, the ICS approaches each person’s health and care needs. This will help us offer better, more consistent treatment to the people in our care, and support us to improve the health and wellbeing of local people throughout their lives.
Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS partners have agreed to the following priority objectives, which will give all organisations a shared focus to drive positive changes from birth and through each life phase our local people go through.
Equality – reduce inequalities in health outcomes
Opportunity – create a system of opportunity
People – give people more control over their health and wellbeing
Quality – deliver a world-class service enabled by research and innovation
Sustainable – be environmentally and financially sustainable with a resilient workforce
