What is an ICS?

Integrated Care Systems, or ICSs, are partnerships between organisations that meet health and care needs across an area. In our case, our Integrated Care System covers all of Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Royston in North Hertfordshire.

By working together as a partnership, we are better able to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities, reducing health inequalities and putting local people at the heart of everything we do.

In Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, there are nearly 50,000 staff working in our Hospitals, Community Trusts, GP Surgeries, Community Pharmacists, Ambulance Services and Social Care, including Care Homes. Every single person in our huge health and care family plays a really important role in providing support and help to thousands of local people, being part of their lives and being there for them when they are most vulnerable.

The ICS brings together Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations, Local Authorities, and NHS Trusts to make a real positive difference to local people and communities.
