What is a career as a patient transport service driver in health and social care?

Provide transport to patients who require non-emergency medical care as well as lifting patients out of the vehicle, and supporting during journey to feel safe and comfortable. You ‘ll also be responsible for vehicle operation and maintenance, coordination and communicating with other healthcare professions and accurate record keeping and following safety and compliance.

You will work alongside an Ambulance Care Assistant.

There are no set entry requirements but expect a good standards of English and Maths  and some may ask for qualifications such as GCSEs, NVQs or equivalent.

It is likely that you will be expected to have a full, manual driving licence when you apply along with a C1 category to operate larger vehicles.

A starting salary of £23,615 with progression up to £25,674.
