What is a career as a dental therapist in healthcare?

As a dental therapist you can undertake routine clinical and preventative dental procedures that focus on treating and managing oral health issues in both children and adults. As a dental therapist you would work under the prescription of a dentist and can progress to working independently depending on your training, experience and setting.

You will need to complete a degree in Dental Therapy approved by the General Dental Council (GDC). Upon completion, you will need to register with the General Dental Council (GDC).

A starting salary is £29,970 with opportunity to progress up to £53,000 with experience, further training and dependant on the setting.
